SARAH

Sarah was a frightened and starving stray who eluded a farmer's efforts to catch her for several days.  She was living on road kill and surviving in the wild, no doubt fending off coyotes as well.  Finally, the farmer saw her circling a pile of brush and upon investigation he found four newborn puppies.  By placing the puppies in a live trap he was able to get Sarah to go into the trap and he then took them all to a high kill shelter in rural WV.

Sarah and babies were able to find foster care and Sarah was able to take care of her precious babies without worry of euthanization or stress of a shelter.  Now, all of her beautiful puppies have successfully found forever homes, but Sarah is still patiently waiting for her forever home.

Sarah appears to be a purebred Bluetick Hound, about 5 years old but maybe she looks older because she has had a hard life. She has a big scar on one ankle and a notch gone on one otherwise beautiful velvety ear.    Bluetick hounds make wonderful family pets and she appears to be already housetrained!!!!

Sarah is very friendly with us now that she feels safe.  She enjoys walking on the leash and does very well!  Her adoption fee of $200 helps with the cost of spay, shots, heartworm/lyme disease test, worming, flea/tick preventative, and transportation to meet her new family.

Won't you please think about giving his poor girl a chance to find out what it is like to be part of a family?  She is going to make a wonderful companion if someone would just give her the chance!  Won't you be that someone?

BIANCA

Every dog that ends up at a shelter...has a story to tell.  Bianca has a story and would like to share with you,

"Hello there!  My name is Bianca (or, at least that is what they are calling me) and I am not sure what I have done wrong to end up at a very high kill shelter.  I am an incredibly sweet girl who loves everyone and guess I will make the best of this bad situation.  The shelter staff can't believe that no one has come looking for me yet as they believe I am absolutely one of the sweetest dogs they have ever come across!  The rescue thinks I am about 3 years old. I have been spayed and am current on all of my vaccines.  Oh yeah...I guess I was heartworm positive, too.  I have already received my treatments for heartworm and am recovering and am doing really well!  I feel good and will have to remain on heartworm preventative for the rest of my life.  But, you know, every dog should be on heartworm preventative anyways so they don't end up sick like I did!!  My treatments are done and I am really just wanting to find a new place to call home.  The holidays have already passed and I was hoping to be in a new home by now, but, I know I will be a great dog for some family.  I am the sweetest girl and very gentle with kids  I know I am no longer a puppy, but I am still cute like a puppy and have a lot of love to offer a family.  Won't you please consider giving me a loving home??"

Bianca has gone through her heartworm treatments and doing great!  She has no restrictions, but will need to be on heartworm preventative for the rest of her precious life.

When Bianca first arrived, she had to stay at a kennel as our foster homes were full.  Everyone at the kennel just adored her!  Happily, we found a foster home for her and she is doing wonderful!  Actually, her foster mom is someone who worked at the kennel and adored Bianca so much that she wanted to foster her until she found a home!  Bianca is housebroken and crate trained.  Her foster mom said she is her shadow and follows her everywhere.  So, please keep that in mind because if you do not like a needy, affectionate dog....Bianca is probably not the dog for you.  But, if you like a dog that just wants to love on you and snuggle by your side, then please consider Bianca!

Even though the shelter told us Bianca was GREAT with other dogs....she, is not. She has been with small dogs and is fine with them.  She has been with dogs her own size and as long as the other dog is friendly or submissive....she is fine.  We have tried her with bigger dogs and she becomes snappy.  She isn't aggressive, but just stands her own ground if she feels threatened.

Bianca is truly just a lovable dog!!  If someone or a family would just give her a chance....she will make a wonderful, loving companion!!!!
