Meet Miss Gidget! This adorable pup arrived to our rescue a few weeks ago and and we have been getting to know her so we can find a great family to fit her needs.
Gidget came to us from Kentucky. She was dumped in the country and left to fend for herself. Fortunately, a kind woman found her and contacted a couple of rescues in her area and has found her way to Worthy Tails.
Gidget appears to be possibly a mix of springer spaniel and beagle.....just a guess since we have no idea of the parents! She is probably around 13 weeks of age and weighs around 20 pounds. My best guess is that she will end up a medium size dog....maybe around 40 to 50 pounds. She LOVES to play!!! I would love to see her go to a home with another young dog that she could play with or to an active family that can take her for walks and give her lots of playtime. Gidget gets along well with other dogs, but is rough with the cat. She plays hard and may be too rough for older dogs as she does not back down to the growls from the seniors! I have slowly been introducing her to the crate as she does not like it. I do find her sleeping in it on occasion, however. She is spoiled and sleeps in bed with our son at night and has never had an accident. Her housetraining is going very well, but still having an occasional accident.
Gidget does guard her food! We have been working with her on this issue, but she will need continued training in this area. She guards her food from the other dogs, however, we can put our hands in the food dish and she could care less. She has no toy aggression, but is snarky with her chews as well.
Gidget has received all 3 of her puppy vaccinations, been dewormed 3 times and treated with flea and tick preventative. Her adoption fee is $275.
