Kate is an unbelievably sweet, easy going, medium sized, 7 year old Australian Shepherd/Spaniel mix who loves to meet new people as well as other dogs. She is very playful, loves car rides and walks, and gets very excited when you pick up her leash. She would make a great hiking partner, agility dog or would enjoy scent classes. She walks very well on leash, only pulling if she sees a bunny or squirrel and is learning.
In her foster home she does very well with other dogs and cats. We think she would prefer a home with another dog who would play with her but she is also understanding of other dogs body language if they don't want to play. She usually greets guests at the door with her whole hind end wiggling but is polite and doesn't jump up. Kate does have some skin allergies that are now well managed. Her new family should be dedicated to make sure she doesn't get too itchy or uncomfortable again. She is house trained, and does well for baths and nail trims. She loves to sleep beside the bed, has done well in a crate if needed however, prefers to be trusted out of her crate in a dog proof area of the home. We also think she would do great with kids.
