Dale is a 4 year old border collie mix who is the sweetest little bundle of energy. Pictures are deceiving, he's petite at only about 35lbs. He came from a hoarding situation in Kentucky, but seems very well socialized. He loves to play with people and other dogs, and is cat friendly! We think he would also do well with children. Homes with older dogs who don't always want to play may not be the best fit with Dale. A younger dog who wants to play as much as he does would be great. He is also good at entertaining himself with toys. He does have some anxiety when crated but has not been destructive and is potty trained. The only time we've seen him bark is at strangers at the door, but he warms up fast; quickly wanting to play with them. He may also whine for a period of time after you leave the house, but seems to settle quickly. He needs someone to teach him some obedience training and a family to set boundaries early. He is catching on fast in his foster home.
Dale was heartworm positive, is finishing his treatment but is ready to go to his new family. He has some mild dental tartar so a dental cleaning is recommended in the next year once he is clear of heartworm. Otherwise he is very healthy, neutered, and up to date on everything. He does well in the car, likes to play ball, and almost never stops wagging his tail.
