Otis joined our rescue on May 29th from a kill shelter in Alabama and is now in search of his forever home! He was found as a stray, so we have no information on his parents. Based on his looks and build, we feel he definitely has some german shepherd in him! He probably has some hound in him as he has long legs.
Otis is around 4 months old and weighs 25 lbs. He is going to be a big dog! He needs to put on some weight, but he has a large stature and needs to grow into his big paws. Otis is a very friendly, happy boy! Even while getting a bath, his tail was wagging the whole time...LOL. He does have a lot of energy and plays rather rough, so, we recommend no smaller dogs or young children. He is being fostered in a home with 2 small children and he is puppy mouthy and knocks them over at times. Children 8 and older should be fine.
Otis needs to be with an active, dog savvy family (preferably one that is familiar with GSD). Daily exercise will be a must! He does well in his crate and catching onto house training. Otis does plays great with other dogs that are his size or larger. We would recommend no cats as he will probably chase them. Once he has used up his energy, he will gladly snuggle up with you and take a snooze!!
Otis has received his first two parvo/distemper vaccines, bordatella vaccine, rabies vaccine; dewormed; current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. His adoption fee is $375.
If you are interested in adopting this handsome boy, please submit an application on our website at https://worthytails.rescuegroups.org. For any questions, please send an email to jessie.wilson@comcast.net.
Thank you for your interest in a rescue puppy!
