Update 05/19/11: Hunter has come out of his shell a bit since I've been fostering him. He is so freakin sweet I can't stand it! He is not as much of a lap dog has he was when I first brought him into my home. He still does enjoy R&R on my lap, but usually only after he's had his opportunity to run off his puppy energy. Hunter is crate trained, but can't always hold himself for 8-9 hours just yet. He is still discovering what he's supposed to do with toys, but he knows he likes them. He is also learning basic commands and knows sit and stay. He LOVES playing with his larger foster brother and sister, but he does need to learn how to share his foster mom's time. That is something he will learn in time and we are progressivly working on. He is in no way aggressive, he just wants to be in on all the action! Typical lap dog behavior! All in all he is a super sweet and cute dog that I can't believe has not been adopted yet. If you think you have room in your heart and home for this spectacular boy that makes me laugh every day, then please fill out an application. Hunter can't wait to meet you!
Lap dog, lap dog, lap dog are three things that describe Hunter. He is the cutest thing ever! His ears are CONSTANTLY flipped back - which makes him even more cute! His pictures do not do him justice at all. He has puppy energy, but is also perfectly happy laying in someone's lap. Hunter will do well in any home where he will be given plenty of affection.
A leash and a walk seem to be new to him, so some patience may be needed for him to become the kind of dog you can walk around the neighborhood showing off.
Hunter is a healthy 10-15 lbs and, although not guaranteed, probably shouldn't be more than 20 lbs when full grown. He gets along with dogs and we assume he will do well with cats. He does like to jump and nip (he IS a puppy) so any home with babies or toddlers will need to be mindful. His adoption fee covers all his vetting needs so he will be neutered and up to date when adopted.
Questions can be emailed to his foster mom at alcoble9602@yahoo.com (please put "Hunter" in the subject line). If you are interested in adopting Hunter, please fill out an application at www.worthytails.rescuegroups.org
Thank you for considering a rescue dog!
