What a sweet sweet boy Charlie is. He just loves to lay on your lap and cuddle. He has a funny little quirk where he will sit on your feet or lean against the side of your leg when sitting beside you. Charlie is such handsome boy too! He has a squared head and jaw, broad chest, and long pointed tail. Oh, and his tricolor pattern also incorporates light brown spots all through his white fur. He is absolutely gorgeous!
Charlie is very loving and seeks out attention. He has discovered toys and thoroughly enjoys playing fetch or chewing on a nylabone. His new home should supply him with plenty toys and nylabones to strike his fancy. He is crate trained, housebroken and very well behaved indoors. He whines and gets excited when he needs to be let out. He gets along great with other dogs and will do fine in a home with other dogs. We have not cat tested him, but he would probably do fine with them after an adjustment period.
He L.O.V.E.S. human attention and would require a home where he will get plenty of good ole lovin.
Charlie knows basic commands - sit, stay and shake. We are working on lay down, but he hasn't picked up that one yet. Charlie takes treats very gently when told to be nice. Charlie listens very well and wants to please his humans.
Because Charlie is a beagle mix, he should have a secure fenced yard so his nose doesn't let him wander into the street and get lost or worse... He is still learning not to jump up, so either a home with no small children (under 5) or a home with small children who aren't afraid of a dog being excited and jumping would be ideal.
Charlie needs to be walked and exercised every day to stimulate his mind and use up some of his energy. He walks very well on a flexi leash with a harness (recommended as he can slip a collar).
Charlie is a really great dog that needs to get to a forever home soon. He is settling in too much at his foster home, which will make his transition more tough for him.
Charlie's adoption fee is $250.00 and covers his vetting needs so he is up to date when he gets adopted.

Thank you for considering a recue dog!
The shelter who is sending him to PA has this to say about Charlie ""Charlie Campbell" is a very nice beagle (mix?), possibly mixed with some foxhound as he is a larger beagle (close to 40 lbs). He is housebroken, and walks well on a flexi-lead, plays well with other dogs. About 1-2 years in age....he was turned in by an elderly man who found him a couple months ago, and has been letting Charlie stay in his house, but the man has some health problems and brought Charlie to the shelter. He is very sad at the shelter, and we really want to find something for this nice dog!"
