Hornet's previous owner could no longer hunt and therefore deemed Hornet worthless, thus dumping him at the Humane Society of Parkersburg, WV.  Like many shelters south of the Mason Dixon line HSOP is a high kill shelter.  Lucky for Hornet a foster home was available and willing to take him in PA.

Hornet has been in foster care since 10/13/12 and is such a good boy.  He gets along GREAT with other dogs and kids and would do just fine with cats.  He listens very well and knows some basic commands.  Hornet walks well on a leash.  Hornet is HOUSEBROKEN!!  He is estimated to be between 3-5 years old and is the perfect mix of dog.  He likes to play but also likes to lay around and nap when nothing exciting is happening around him, which makes him great for most any family.  He loves getting people attention but is not so much a lap dog.  He will let you put him on your lap and pet him, but once you stop petting he will jump down.  He is very submissive and respectful of both humans and other animals.

Like most beagles, we recommend Hornet be placed in a home with a fenced yard.  We will consider applications without a fenced yard on a case by case basis.  Beagles tend to follow their noses and Hornet is no different!

Hornet's adoption fee of $250 covers his rabies, distemper, and bordetella shots as well as his neuter surgery.  Hornet is currently up to date and is ready to move into his forever home.  If you feel that you can provide a home to Hornet for the next 10 years please fill out an application at www.worthytails.rescuegroups.org.  You can email Hornet's foster mom at alcoble9602@yahoo.com if you have any questions about Hornet or the adoption process.

Hornet is in good health and has LOTS of years left.  Please don't overlook this boy because he isn't a puppy.
