Sam was surrendered to a shelter in Ohio because apparently, he does not like chickens and he was a farm dog! Poor boy! Although he doesn't care for chickens, he seems to be fine with everything else....dogs, cats, and kids! Sam is such a sweet dog and just really wants to please you.
Sam is 4 years old and his mother was a yellow labrador retriever and his father was a golden retriever. He is neutered, current on vaccinations and heartworm negative. He did test positive for Ehrlichia (a tick borne disease) and is currently on antibiotics for treatment. Sam is housebroken and behaves quite well in the house in spite of being a farm dog. One thing we have found with Sam is that he is not fond of the crate. Being that he ran loose on the farm, it is no wonder he does not like being confined in a crate. However, he does fine in the house and there is no need to crate him.
Sam is currently being fostered with 2 other labrador retrievers and does well with them. His foster family also consists of teenage girls in which he sleeps in bed with the one at night! We are told by his previous owner that he was fine with cats and that he loves the water! Sam walks very well on a leash, loves going on car rides and knows commands. He is a really sweet dog and has the typical labrador/golden retriever personality!
Sam's adoption fee is $250 which helps pay for his vetting. If you are interested in adopting this handsome boy, please complete an application on our website at www.worthytails.rescuegroups.org. For any questions, please send an email to Christy at cblack@blacklandscape.com.
