Looking for something precious? Then look no further than this Pearl. Pearl is 8 years young, spayed, and a petite gal (22 pounds) with a sweet personality. She came from the South after her owner no longer wanted her for hunting. She knows several commands, really loves people, and gets along well with other dogs and children. She walks very well on leash, and loves her naps! This is her story:
My name is Pearl and I was saved by a nice lady in NC. My owner was going to put me to sleep because he no longer considered me valuable. The nice lady asked if a rescue would accept me into their Rescue so she could continue saving other beagles. I was not treated well by that owner, and I have some quirks, but I'm working on them, everyday. I walk well on a leash, like my crate, I'm not a runner or digger and I'm working on housetraining after living outside all my life. My hearing, sight and teeth are fine. I love having a food bowl to call my own as my previous owner just threw food onto the ground for all of us. I like to lounge around, and I really love people. Because I have some remaining issues (not aggressive at all!), I'd do better in a home with another dog who I can lounge with, and preferably older children who understand why I yelp when I do. Since beagles live long lives, I still have plenty of time to give you lots of love. We beagles make wonderful companions!
