Worthy Tails is a non profit, all-volunteer animal foster and adoption organization. Our mission is to help animals that did not ask to be born, and are often subjected to inhumane conditions and treatment, to find loving homes.  The members of our organization believe that any animal, no matter how large or small, young or old, beautiful or "only a face a mother can love" can offer unconditional love and companionship to the right person, couple, or family.

Worthy Tails is not an animal shelter.  All animals live in our approved foster homes until permanent, indoor homes can be found.  By living in foster homes, all the animals can feel safe and loved, and the foster parents can observe and work with the animals in order to place them in the best home possible for both them and the people with whom they will be living.  Many of our foster homes have dogs, cats, and/or other animals with which the foster animal can interact.  In addition, many of the foster homes have children so that our fosters have the ability to experience the love that a child can bring. The animals live in their foster homes until they get a second chance at love and happiness.

The physical and psychological health of the animals is extremely important to Worthy Tails.  We provide the beginning inoculations and receive all necessary veterinary care for the animals while they are living in our foster homes.  If the animal is old enough, he/she will also be neutered/spayed before going to his/her ‘forever’ home.  Everyone needs to understand the importance of spaying and neutering in order to control the pet population.  In addition, our foster families have much experience with animals that have been abused, neglected, or abandoned and work to help those animals to overcome their fears.

Worthy Tails relies solely on private and corporate donations to help finance our rescues and accomplish our mission — to provide unwanted animals a second chance at a safe, loving home.
