Izzy joined our rescue on July 19th from a high kill shelter in Alabama where she was found as a stray. We are glad we were able to save her because she is so deserving of a loving home.
Izzy is total sweetheart and we believe she is somewhere between 1 to 2 years old. Our best guess on breeds is a mix of Australian Shepherd/beagle and possibly Australian Cattle dog. She is petite and currently 25 lbs., however, needs to put on some weight as she is very thin. She is food motivated and should not have much problem gaining some pounds.
Izzy has done well with most other dogs and cats in her foster home(though she might try to lick at them at first). She still has puppy energy, but is happy to curl up with you on the couch. Izzy is very submissive and eager to please you with kisses and loves attention. She rides well in the car and was good about getting a bath and a nail trim...but, that involved distracting her with some peanut butter :-). Izzy does okay in her crate but would much rather be be out with her people. We think she would do best with a family that has time to bond in a fun obedience class and maybe even agility.
Izzy is spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative, dewormed and up to date on vaccines and preventatives. Her adoption fee is $375.
