Lira and her sister, Lilac have safely made it to a rescue from a very high kill shelter located in Kentucky!  She is one of the lucky ones.

Lira is a young, spayed mountain cur mix that is sweet, but timid.  Lira has made a lot of progress with her new foster family. Lira needs someone who will be devoted to helping her with her socialization skills and will be patient.  So, please keep in mind if you come to meet her and Lilac, they may seem shy, but once they warm up, they are very loving. She will love to nap with you while watching tv and give lots of kisses. She has a hunting instint by nature, so she will require some type of fence at her new home. 

Lira is a beautiful brindled dog who should grow to be medium in size. She loves to be around other dogs, but chases cats.  We believe Lira is around 9 months of age....so, she is still very much puppy!  She is not completely housebroken, but is learning and hopefully will be by the time she is adopted.  Lira would love to be able to find a place to call "home".  Could you be that family?
