Update 2/14/2012

Watson has been in foster care for a few days now and he is such a good boy!  He is housebroken and gets along great with other dogs.  He is crate trained and is learning to walk with a leash.  He does like to chew and has tried to chew on some of my furniture.  When I tell him no, he abruptly stops and chews on a toy I give him.  He plays and chews like a puppy, but is calm and listens like an adult dog.  He listens very well and wants to please his humans.  He's a big cuddler and will roll over for belly rubs right away.  He really enjoys sitting on his human's lap and being petted. 

Watson is opening up more each day and is proving to be an absolutely wonderful dog.  He will do well in almost any home where he will get plenty of attention and human interaction.  We would prefer a home with children at least 7 years old as we wouldn't want to see a small child step on Watson or trip over him.

Hello I'm Watson and I'm getting ready to make an epic journey.  You see, right now I'm in a high kill shelter in Rowan County, KY.  But they said I couldn't stay any longer and that I'd go to the "scary" room if they couldn't find a place for me to go.  Its not that I'm a bad dog or the shelter folks are mean, but they only have so much space and more dogs than kennels.  So a wonderful lady in PA said she'd take me into her home for a short while and show me the ropes until she finds a permanent place for me to live (that's where you come in!)  She said she'd update my profile with more details about me once she gets to meet me and see how I act in her house and with her dogs. 

We aren't sure what breed he is yet, appears to be Dachshund/Wire Haired Terrier or Lab mix but rescue in KY says Bassett mix.

Watson will be up to date on all shots and neutered prior to being adopted.  His adoption fee will assist in paying all his medical expenses while under our care.
