Maverick

Maverick is doing well. He has now made week two of being out of his crate while we are at work. I still come home at lunch time to check in on him and to take him outside. He is so affectionate! Just loves to cuddle and he'll let you know when he's ready by nudging you with his nose. Give him about five minutes of your time and he's satisfied. He now weighs 48 lbs., so were curious as to how big he will really get. He now knows the word "walk". He perks his ears up even more and turns his head. He has a wonderful personality and loves everyone. At this point, he doesn't seem territorial. He continues to sleep with us....guess it's worth us waking up with a stiff back!!Maverick is very sweet, and I couldn't imagine him living with anyone else!

Gibbs AKA "Mikey" We adopted Gibbs in July of 2009. He was a wonderful puppy full of energy and lots of kisses. He became fast friends with our rescue Beagle, Snoopy. Gibbs loves galloping around our yard, munching on carrots, and taking long naps in our bed. Since adopting Gibbs we became passionate about fostering other dogs awaiting their forever homes. Gibbs has welcomed 4 other dogs and seen them all go to loving families. Gibbs is such a wonderful addition to our lives as we are very blessed to have such a great dog! Matthew and Kristin Lord

As I told you we adopted Pax soon after my beloved Lady died. He is a special little guy. The first day we brought him home he would refuse to leave the house. Ten days and as many ice cream cones later he was up for anything. It took one day to house break him and he has had only on accident since then because he could not wake me up. He had learned all of his obedience in two months and then his real training began. He endured a 10 hour road trip with no complaints or ill effects so that was great. It was in preperation of the many trips he would take in the future. He has excelled in all of his Mobility asstistance training and can pick up anything I drop even something a small as a dime. He will bring in the groceries and take the trash out. He assists me with shopping, picking up anything on the bottom shelf I point to with my foot. He will carry almost anything and yesterday he drug in package of paper towels that was almost as big as he is. He will be taking his first airplane ride in April, in the cabin with me. He had some pretty big paws to fill and has much to learn yet but he is preforming like a champ. He is a wonderful companion and helper, which shows what love, encouragement and traing can do

Mylie
Mylie

As a family we had just lost our chocolate lab to old age. Of course we were deeply saddened and the house seemed empty. We began to look as a family around local shelters but we weren't quite ready to commit to a puppy. One night, I decided to search the area shelters again and I came across Mylie's picture. It was love at first sight but I wanted to think about adopting for a while before I told the children because I knew they would immediately want to go get her. Once I showed the rest of the family her photograph we were all on board. The Worthy Tails Animal Rescue was fantastic to deal with and greatly assisted us throughout the adoption process. Indee, the former Mylie, has meshed very well with our family. She loves the snow and enjoys getting dirty in the flower beds. She is quite the snuggler and lucky for us she hasn't gotten too big! We were lucky to find Indee and we wish others great success as they begin the search for their future family members.
