Sebastian
We rescued Rocky when he was about two months old from a wonderful foster family who took great care of him. Rocky is now a solid 68 pounds and is the happiest dog I know. He is a big "love bug". When my husband leaves for work in the morning he will jump up on the bed into my husband's spot to cuddle with me or if my husband is watching TV he will jump up on the couch and lay his head on his lap. His favorite past times are laying on the couch watching TV (he even knows the jingles to commercials that have animals on them and will come running if he is in another room), playing in the snow, or playing in his "kiddy" pool in the summer. Rocky has brought us such joy and happiness since the day we brought him home and there is not a day that goes by where he is not making us laugh.
Duke
Kevin, formerly Duke is ball of energy and very smart, he loves to play rough but if another dog becomes aggressive Kevin likes to seek refuge on your lap. He is very trainable, he will sit, stay, heel, come, and go to his bed when told. He does not sleep on his bed however, he sleeps in my youngest daughter’s bed along with two cats. Kevin thinks the cats are there for his amusement, fortunately they are OK with the chase game. He has turned out to be a great pet, he is afraid of water witch isn’t so bad, the back border of our yard is a creek so no chance he is crossing that to leave the yard. Kevin’s favorite game is chasing the laser pointer, it used to be the cat’s favorite game but they don’t run the risk of being trampled by Kevin. He is a great dog and getting better everyday.
Hannah
Hannah is a wonderful dog. She is very friendly and loves all the dogs that we see in the woods behind our house where we walk twice a day. We even arrange "playdates" with special friends --- two collies and a labradoodle. Hannah especially likes to hunt squirrels and chipmunks with our other dog, Star. She also LOVES to climb logs, no matter how high they are or how narrow they are, and she can leap up onto them without a leading run ----- she just jumps straight up from a standing position. She also leaps very high in the air with her front legs while running when she is very excited.
Lexi
Meeka (aka Lexi) is absolutely wonderful! Since her adoption in March of 2010, she's brought our family nothing but smiles and laughter. She fit into our existing pack immediately, joining two older brothers (Zero, an 8-year-old boxer mix and Kiev, an 11-year-old Siberian Husky). Her energy and enthusiasm is contagious to both humans and canines. After breezing through a puppy obedience class, I began agility training with her. We're in it purely for fun since she's still unsure about that moving teeter obstacle! In addition to being a natural jumper, she loves to play chase, tug-of-war and hide-and-go-seek. She also enjoys hiking, swimming and play dates with her best friend Jinx, a pug mix. Meeka fills our hearts with joy and we're so happy she's joined our family. Thanks for bringing us together!
Karly
I adopted Karly (now named Luna) on May 3, 2009. I had been searching for a dog for weeks on Pet Finder, but every one I saw just didn't seem like they were "the" dog. They were all adorable and I'm sure would make great pets, but I knew I still hadn't found "the one." As I was searching, I saw Luna's photo, and I immediately knew she was my dog. I fell in love as soon as I saw the picture of her looking as if she was waving at the camera, and after I read about her, I fell in love even more. I was underage at the time, so my mom was the one to fill out the adoption forms and whatnot, and I almost cried when I found out we were the family to adopt her.
When we picked Luna up, I was a little sad, because we were taking her away from her brother, who was going to his new home later that day, but I was so happy to finally meet her in person. She was so sweet! The drive home was about 4 hours long, so every so often we stopped to see if Luna had to use the bathroom. I can't help but smile because every time we stopped, I'd set Luna on the grass, and she immediately just sat down and looked up at me. Once we got home, she still wouldn't go on the grass, but she ended up finally using the bathroom, even though it was on the rug!
Now, Luna is still a sweet, loving, and playful dog. She's my best friend, and loves to cuddle with me every morning before we get out of bed to start the day. She absolutely loves every person and every animal she meets. Surprisingly, she loves to go to the vet's office... her doctor and a certain vet tech are two of her favorite people! She's such a character and makes me smile every single day. When she gets excited, she'll grab a toy in her mouth and wag her tail... normally she does this when she hears someone heading her way. When there's a thunderstorm, she'll try hiding underneath the couch, even though she doesn't fit at all... her whole body aside from her head sticks out! Once in a while, she'll even try to sit on my lap, though she's a whopping 70 pounds!
I honestly couldn't imagine being without Luna. The days wouldn't be half as good as they are if I didn't wake up with her by my side. She's part of my family, and I wouldn't have it any other way!
