Grant and his littermates joined our rescue on Wednesday, April 10th and are in search of their new forever homes! They join us from a shelter in Valley, Alabama. They were surrendered by their owners as they were not planning for puppies and could not care for them. The owners say the mother dog is a purebred Chesapeake Bay Retriever, however, I think she was probably just a labrador retriever. As for the dad, I think there were multiple fathers in this litter!
Grant is the only puppy left in this litter! This sweet little guy is patiently waiting for his forever home. Grant is currently 31 lbs and will probably end up being around 50 to 60 lbs when full grown. He seems to be a mix of labrador retriever and hound, but I think there could be some border collie in him. This pup knows no stranger and is friendly and loveable with everyone he meets. I do want him to go to a home with another dog, however. He is just more relaxed when another dog is around...and, it doesn't have to be a young dog; he will find comfort in being with an older dog. He is very respectful of the house dogs and they range from 10 months to 11 years. Grant is doing great with his house training and has very few accidents. He is just a great puppy and will make a very nice pet for a lucky family!!
Grant is current on distemper, bordatella, rabies, dewormings, and flea/tick/heartworm preventative. His adoption fee is $350.
